Is Debt Inevitable?
While most students don’t want to incur more student loan debt, you may find it necessary to do so while pursuing you Master's degree. The college calculates the net price of attendance at CMU to be $21,536 per year for a new grad student (Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, “CMU Net Price Calculator”). This means two years at grad school can potentially set you back around $44,000. If student loans are an option you’re considering, I recommend talking with someone at the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
